This week There was an excellent turnout for Year 10 parents’ evening. Many parents are already asking questions about how they can best support their child in their GCSE studies. Your son/daughter should be recording homework regularly in their planners and it is never too soon to start reviewing work completed in lessons. All Year 11 pupils will have brought home their reports this afternoon. We would be grateful if you could go through the comments and targets from teachers….

This week As you are aware, the adverse weather conditions meant that we reluctantly closed the School early on Tuesday and then remained closed all week. These decisions are always difficult and we apologise for any inconvenience this caused. Finally a thaw has come over the weekend and the School will be open as normal on Monday. Our flagpole is very much a fixture of the School and a meeting point for pupils at the end of the school day….

This week On Thursday we held our Options Evening for Year 9 pupils and parents/carers. It was a very busy evening and our thanks go to everyone who attended. The deadline for the submission of completed option forms is Monday, 5th February. Year 13 received their mock examination results this morning in a special assembly. Students will have the opportunity to review their examination papers next week and should now be focusing on what they need to do to improve….

This week There are many extra-curricular opportunities for your son/daughter to participate in and an up-to-date timetable can be found on the School’s website. We are encouraging more of our Sixth Form students to set up clubs and societies themselves and promote them with younger year groups.
