This week Assemblies started with a fantastic performance by two talented Year 10 students, Anthony and Alex, who entertained with an extract from their play written and recorded for DWS Audio. This was a mixture of pre-recorded and live action and was a great way to start the day. UK International Radio Drama Festival 2019

DWS Audio is proud to announce that two of our audio plays have been included in the UK International Radio Drama Festival 2019. One of Our Exercise Books is Missing and Free Fall will be showcased on Thursday 21st March at Café Nero in Canterbury, the venue for this year’s festival. The plays will also be available online via the radio drama festival website, where you can listen and vote for your favourite play. Mr Chappell

Congratulations to all who entered the inaugural Darrick Wood School Christmas Card Competition. The standard of entry was extremely high, with many excellent pieces commended for their effort.  The first place was given to Oliver Watson, followed by Aqil Ahmed and Angela Veickovska in third place.  Congratulations!

Take pArt Challenge

We are delighted that two students have been chosen to exhibit at the V&A Museum of Childhood as part of the Take pArt Challenge competition. A huge congratulations to Amber Blake & Georgia Barnard for having their art work shortlisted. All submissions will be judged at a private show, held at the V&A Museum of Childhood on the 29th November. Congratulations from the Art Department and all at Darrick Wood School
