Darrick Wood School wins award for exceptional 2016 results

Darrick Wood School has been nationally recognised for its exceptional 2016 performance by the School, Students and Teachers network (SSAT). Educational Outcomes data analysis from SSAT has shown that the school is in the top 10% of non-selective schools nationally for attainment. Every year several of the Bromley secondary schools join together to compete in a Key Stage Three Art Competition, that focuses on the talent of Bromley’s 11 to 14 year olds budding artists. Salters’ Chemistry Festival

Congratulation to our Y8 scientists, who did brilliantly in the annual Salters’ Chemistry Festival.  Our budding young chemists were up against some stiff competition from 25 other schools from in and around London (a mixture of independent, grammar, academy and comprehensive schools). Both our Year 7 boys and Year 8 girls were successful in reaching the finals of the London Youth Games Sports Hall Athletics at Crystal Palace, representing Bromley and South London. This afternoon, Darrick Wood School hosted a Bromley-wide Key Stage 3 Art exhibition and competition. On Wednesday 22nd February, a small group of us participated in the Maths Challenge at St Olaves School.  Myself (Daniel Haughey), Alfie Barnes, Evie Brett and Imogen Edmundson made up the team representing Darrick Wood School. South East London Indoor Athletics Championships – Boys

Following victory at the Bromley Championships, our Year 7 Boys Team represented Bromley in the South London Regional Final held in Carshalton, Surrey. Darrick Wood School Welcomes Chinese Visitors

Earlier this term we were able to welcome a group of Chinese students for a week-long visit to Darrick Wood. They were from a city in north east China, located between Mongolia and North Korea. After a week spent sightseeing they then spent a week in lessons here experiencing all aspects of school life.
