This week Students and staff from Nanya School in China arrived on Tuesday. After a short opening ceremony and introductions, the students were paired with Darrick Wood students and attended their lessons all week. On Tuesday evening they were introduced to cricket and on Wednesday after school interesting discussions were had between Darrick Wood students and their Chinese counterparts, comparing their educational experiences and lives in their different countries. Darrick Wood Artists Receive National Recognition

We are delighted that three Year 12 students were chosen to exhibit at a prestigious nationwide competition yesterday. The Mall Gallery received approximately 25,000 entries. Out of those, 340 were selected and 4 of which were chosen from Darrick Wood – a quite phenomenal achievement. Take pArt – A Summer Art Challenge for Years 7, 8 and 9

The Darrick Wood Summer Art project for Year 7 to 9 is to create a piece of art for the following competition inspired by the theme “Evolve”. The Take pArt Challenge is a visual art challenge for 11-14 year olds in London & Essex. This recognises the achievements of all students and staff at the School and marks our continued success as a non-selective school striving to provide the best education for all of our students. National Students’ Art Exhibition Success

The Art and Photography Department are pleased to announce that this year we have four pieces of work exhibited in a prestigious London gallery. A huge congratulations goes to Gabrielle Dalsan, Sam Courtenay and Isabelle Burrin on this huge accomplishment. The National Students’ Art Exhibition is an annual exhibition open to all state secondary and special schools in England. This week It has been another fantastic week with our students showcasing their talents. The annual Dance Production on Tuesday, 3rd July included with solo, pair and group performances across a range of styles.
