Gifted and Talented visit Greenwich University

Nine Year 8 and Year 9 pupils from Darrick Wood School attended the Bromley Gifted and Talented Science and Technology day at the University of Greenwich. Working in pairs as part of teams of four with pupils from schools throughout the Borough the pupils took on a set of challenges.  These included E-fit profiling, programming robots, dragster races and a medical challenge. For the second year running Sixth Form Government and Politics students have been able to engage in a transatlantic political and cultural discussion with High School Politics students in Kenston School Ohio. Six of our pupils qualified for the Kent Schools Athletics Championships, which were held on Saturday 10th June 2017. Following our athletics success in recent years at a local level, Darrick Wood School we successfully entered into the English Schools Track and Field Cup for the first time this year.
