Each time he has shown such strength and commitment to overcome every challenge that has come his way. We therefore want to do all we can to help him in his latest battle which was highlighted in the Bromley Times recently (https://www.bromleytimes.co.uk/news/bone-marrow-appeal-to-readers-1-6466008). He needs a bone marrow donor and we have promised to help highlight this. All the information you need is in the Bromley Times article. Thank you in advance for taking the time read about this and if you can help in any way, even with just a financial donation, then thank you again!

Senior Prefects for 2020/21

As you may know, this year we brought forward the selection process for new prefects and Senior Prefects. Bringing this to earlier in the year has allowed our current serving prefects to be released from their duties and to focus on their examinations and university applications. It has also allowed our Year 12 students to begin the routine of prefect duties sooner. Before Christmas I had the pleasure of interviewing some delightful and very strong candidates for the post Head Boy/Girl.

I am now pleased to announce that the following appointments to the Senior Prefect team have been made with effect from January 2020:

Head Boy – Jacob Eyers

Head Girl – Lizzie Webb

Deputy Head Girls – Emily Bestwick, Daisy Price

Deputy Head Boys – Matthew Harding, Finnian Steel

They will be presented with their badges in assemblies soon. All prefects and senior prefects at the School have responsibility for upholding the School’s values through performing lunchtime duties, helping at school events and leading new initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy at the School. Pupils in the lower school must listen to and respect the prefects and if they do not, the prefects may issue litter patrols or inform members of staff. I would like to thank all our prefects for their hard work and commitment to Darrick Wood School.

Early close on Thursday, 13th February – please note that the School will close earlier on this day to facilitate a cross-Borough teacher training event.
