This week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to all the students who helped make Open Evening another big success. It is their enthusiasm as guides and in Departments that demonstrates to prospective parents and their children the values we hold dear and the opportunities we provide as a school. There were two exceptional speeches from a Year 8 pupil (Thomas) and a Year 13 student (Olivia) that also made a significant contribution to the evening along with of course our fantastic staff. Judging by the numbers on the night and the many positive comments made, Darrick Wood will continue to be a very popular choice. Well done everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday was Tag der\ndeutschen Einheit (German Unity Day). We flew the German flag to recognise and\nhonour the significance of this to millions of Germans. Mr Wright, Head of\nGerman circulated a PowerPoint to Form Tutors to help our children learn about this\nsignificant world event along with the Youtube links below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are always\ninterested in hearing about any pupils who are achieving in sport outside of\nschool, perhaps at county level upwards. Please let the PE Department know via\na note in the planner or by email\/letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magic Night – last chance to get\nyour tickets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PSFA are holding their fantastic Magic Night again on Saturday, 12th<\/sup> October at 6.45pm. The South London Magic Society will perform close up table magic followed by a stage show.  There will be a licensed bar but you are welcome to bring along nibbles and some food. Tickets cost \u00a37.50 but anyone who has not yet requested them should urgently email info@darrickwoodpsa.co.uk<\/a> by the end of this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
