Whilst most Darrick\nWood students are punctual and attend well, a minority are sometimes late. We\nhave run lunchtime detentions for many years but a persistent few continue to\nbe late. As a consequence, late detention is now held at 3.10pm on the same day\nthey are late. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of our autumn\nterm clubs and societies are now under way. Please encourage your sons and\ndaughters to join in with the many opportunities that are available. A complete\ntimetable of what we offer will be published on the website soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please avoid driving\nto the School at busy times wherever possible. If this is unavoidable, please\npark with consideration for our neighbours. They also need to get out easily,\ngo to work or drop children at school\/nursery. There have been issues for some\nof our neighbours recently where parents of Darrick Wood students have blocked\ntheir drive ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dates for the diary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Thursday, 19th\nSeptember – Prize Giving – This is the School’s most prestigious awards evening\nwhere we recognise students’ achievements over the past year. All those who are\nfortunate to be receive awards have now been contacted. Former Head Boy, Elliot\nJay Stocks will be our guest of honour and speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thursday, 26th\nSeptember – Year 7 ‘settling in’ Evening – parents of Year 7 – information will\nbe sent home soon<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wednesday, 2nd\nOctober – Open Evening – this is for current Year 6 parents and their parents.\nIt starts at 6pm. The Head Teacher’s talks are at 6.30 and 7.30pm. We will need\nthe help of many current students on the night either as guides or in subject\nareas.
