{"id":818,"date":"2019-06-28T20:28:30","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T19:28:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.darrickwood.co.uk\/?p=818"},"modified":"2019-06-28T20:41:40","modified_gmt":"2019-06-28T19:41:40","slug":"parent-bulletin-28-06-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.darrickwood.co.uk\/?p=818","title":{"rendered":"Parent Bulletin 28.06.19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>This week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday saw the\nreturn of the PSFA\/Drama Department Murder Mystery evening, this year entitled\n&#8216;Who Killed the Head Mistress?&#8217; We obviously cannot tell anyone who did not\ncome to this brilliant event &#8216;whodunnit?&#8217; but it really was a great evening of\nentertainment. The hall was packed and lots of money was raised for the PSFA.\nThe children even remained in role throughout the intervals and came round to\nthe audience whilst they enjoyed their fish and chips and gave us the\nopportunity to ask their character questions in order to try to solve the\ncrime. Their impressions of the fictional school staff were hilarious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the\nevening GCSE and A level art was on display along with A level photography\npieces in our annual exhibition. Everything was of a very high quality and\nimpressed all who came along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 9 very much\nenjoyed their session with &#8220;Medical Mavericks&#8221; which took place at\nthe beginning of this week.&nbsp; This was a\nhands-on workshop where pupils had the opportunity to learn about different\naspects of medicine and medical practice as well as try out different pieces of\nequipment.&nbsp; The aim of this session was\nto provide pupils with an insight into the many and varied careers in available\nin healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dates for the diary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday, 2nd July\n7.00pm &#8211; Summer Concert<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday, 10th July\n7.00pm &#8211; Sports Awards Evening<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday, 15th July\n7.00pm &#8211; Dance Production<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday, 16th July &#8211;\nSports Day at Norman Park for Years 7, 8 and 9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other Useful information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last day of the Summer term is Friday, 19th July &#8211; details will be sent out over the next week about arrangements for this day and the start of the Autumn term in September 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bromley Cricket Club have sent through information about a free family event in the company of some of England&#8217;s finest cricketers.
