On three nights this week, however, students and staff achieved something that will surely last in their memories for ever. Despite all the setbacks due to COVID, it all came together in the end thanks to the perseverance of students and staff alike. Those lucky enough to watch on any of the evenings were thoroughly entertained and it was probably made all the better in the knowledge of what everyone had had to do to get to this point. It certainly felt a major moment in the School’s history that we finally returned to this annual event after missing out during the pandemic.

Opportunities like these, whether on stage, in the orchestra, back stage or involved with sound and lighting enrich what students experience at school. They provide a positive impact on wellbeing, add to the taught curriculum and provide memories that will last a lifetime. We are so proud of all involved. Well done.

Assemblies this week

These focused on Children’s Mental Health Week which has been running since 2015. Students were encouraged to listen to and to support each other and also to seek help when they need it. Alongside advice on who to talk to in school or at home, the following were also shared:

Kooth is an online therapy platform for young people, accessible from mobile phones.

Bromley Y is a mental health service for young people in Bromley. In line with the government’s aim of adapting the public examinations in recognition of the difficulties faced by students over the past two years, certain information has been released in advance. There is much information to take on board and Heads of Department and teachers will ensure students are aware of what they need to do to prepare. However, we have now placed information for each subject on our website and students and their parents are welcome to take a look at this. It is the second item on the Examinations page and includes information on Key Stage 4 (Year 11) and Key Stage 5 (Year 13).

National Apprenticeship Week 2022

Information has been sent by email to parents of students in Years 9 to 13 regarding apprenticeships.
